About Sunflower Nursery
Sunflower Nursery opened in West Dunbartonshire over 25 years ago. Within that time, we have become highly regarded within the local community for our high standard of care and education. Positive feedback from parents confirms that we provide exciting and innovative care for children in an environment that follows their individual interests and presents abundant opportunities for play, interaction and development.
We have long established links with West College Scotland and Golden Jubilee Hospital and have received excellent feedback from staff and students who can work and study, reassured in the knowledge that their children receive high quality care close by.
We have fostered excellent links with the local community and in particular Hillview Care Home. Children visit regularly developing their confidence and skills as responsible citizens.
With 25 years' experience in childcare and education along with a highly qualified and motivated staff team we continue to offer an outstanding service to our families, some of whom have used our service over many years and who frequently recommend us to family and friends.
Our nursery is purpose built on one level. The interior has been designed to create a warm and welcoming environment for children where they are able to move freely within the nursery in full view of staff at all times. Our 3 spacious play areas take advantage of natural light and provide a nurturing and stimulating environment where children develop and learn through discovery, exploration, creative play balanced with staff supported learning experiences.
Outdoors we have two large garden areas provide excellent spaces for children to play and learn outdoors. These areas include a mud kitchen, sand pits, astro turf and decked areas, dens and climbing frames. We also have an all-weather outdoor classroom perfect for supporting outdoor play and learning all year round. Older children and parents take part in regular Forest School sessions with forest school trained members of staff.
The nursery has a secured door entry system and CCTV both indoors and outdoors for your complete peace of mind.
We care for children from babies to five years and are registered with the Care Inspectorate for up to 83 children from 7.30am – 6.00pm, Monday to Friday.
Our nursery environment is safe and secure and we follow Care Inspectorate safer recruitment guidelines to recruit staff with passion, enthusiasm, motivation and commitment to children in their care.
The nursery is centrally located in the Dalmuir area of Clydebank opposite the Beardmore Hotel and the Golden Jubilee Hospital. We are a 5-minute drive from West College Scotland - Clydebank Campus and a ten-minute drive from Glasgow, Erskine and Old Kilpatrick. Dalmuir train station is a 5-minute walk.
